We sat down with our newest Luxury Simplified Retreats homeowners to see just how he and his wife felt as they went through the process, and what led to their decision to purchase a property, invite us to manage it, and their experience with the on-boarding and guest management process.
Why did you invest in Charleston real estate?
“Charleston is such a wonderful, historic city with everything in short walking distance. It truly is unlike any other city we have ever experienced. As voted #1 City in the World and #2 Most Desirable City for Bachelorette Parties, Charleston is a highly desirable vacation destination that attracts people from around the world. With the great food and music scene, as well as easy access to beautiful beaches, it’s hard to find another city quite like it.”
What prompted you to choose this sort of investment?
“Owning a short-term rental compared to annual or long-term rentals, allows for more visitors to experience our property. The flexibility to block off dates for friends and ourselves was a major factor as well. Short-term renting also gives the property manager the ability to maintain the condition of the property by inspecting it after each short-term renter checks out.
We loved being able to design and furnish a property and fully control the living experience for people staying in the home. This has allowed us to be creative with a design theme and even a property name!”
What made you choose Luxury Simplified Retreats?
“On our first trip to Charleston in July 2016, we stayed at the Maison des Fleurs property, which is managed by Luxury Simplified Retreats, and we were impressed with the entire experience from beginning to end. Communication was professional, logistics were easy, and there was endless attention to detail.
Upon arrival to the property, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a box of local goodies. We also enjoyed the linens that were on par with a high-end luxury hotel. Once we decided to buy our own rental property here, there was no question who we wanted to manage it for us.”
How has the on-boarding experience been for you?
“The on-boarding process has exceeded our expectations. We started working with Luxury Simplified Retreats a few days after our offer was accepted to purchase the property. We planned out all the logistics for turning the empty, single-family home into a short-term rental so when we took ownership, we could hit the ground running and not lose any time.”
