Hide away on Kiawah Island’s secluded marsh-side with The Whitney House. With its serene, private setting this 4BD/5BA home feels like you've been transported to a charming lake side lodge in the Catskills but with all the Kiawah Island favorites that come with a vacation at this island resort.
You'll love quiet afternoons with a glass of iced tea on the inviting screened porch tucked among the tranquil backdrop of lowcountry marsh. Staircases lead through tiered decks and on the lower level patio, you'll find the refreshing pool, plus a cozy covered nook for lounging out of the sun and grand open garage complete with ping pong table.
You'll instantly feel at home when you step inside the open-concept great room with warm woods and rich hues, bathed in natural light with tall windows and vaulted ceiling. To your right, you’ll see the spacious dining area with plenty of room for all your guests that seamlessly blends into a chefs’ kitchen complimented by a distinctive, handcrafted bar. Step outside onto the winding decks that will take you down to the private pool overlooking the lagoon and lush landscape of oaks, pines and palmettos.
Featuring a primary suite on the main floor, this spacious room comes complete with a KING bed and luxurious stone-laid bath. Additionally on the main floor, you’ll find a cozy study with a sleeper-sofa for extra guest space if needed. On the second level, you’ll find three bedrooms each with private baths - two with KING beds and one with TWIN beds to comfortably sleep the whole family.
Tucked among the trees, The Whitney House is just a short walk down the street from the Community Dock where you can take in Kiawah’s signature sunset or cast a fishing line. Just up the road, you’ll also find ideal access for putting in a kayak or paddleboard at the Cinder Creek Pavilion.
NOTE: The Whitney House is a FAMILY FRIENDLY House and parties and/or events are strictly prohibited. Every property in our portfolio is designed to host only vacation guests, and guests of Luxury Simplified Retreats are expected to abide by the rules and NOISE ORDINANCE enforced by the Town of Kiawah Island. Those that violate the terms of occupancy, host events, and/or parties will result in immediate loss of use. The Whitney House does not allow pets. No exceptions. The Whitney House is a NO SMOKING property. No exceptions.
Access
Your Concierge will meet you at the home upon your arrival to check you in. Should our schedules not line up, your Concierge will walk you through how to get into the property. If you have any questions about directions or access to the property, your concierge will be ready and waiting to assist you by phone. Every vehicle MUST have a gate pass to access Kiawah Island. The Town of Kiawah Island allows each reservation to give up to four (4) gate passes per stay. No exceptions.
Interaction
Upon arrival, after the established 4PM check-in time, you may enter and exit the rental at your leisure. Your Concierge will meet you at the property upon check-in and provide valuable information about the home. Should an in-person meeting not work out, your Concierge will provide you with all the instructions you will need. We are here to make the check-in process a seamless one!

With each stay you will enjoy high thread count linens, spa quality towels, hair dryer, ironing board, washer and dryer, standard coffee maker and Keurig, kitchen cookware and utensils, shower toiletries and soaps, extra linens and towels, air conditioning, cable, and wireless internet, and more. With our concierge services you can choose to have our team handle all the details of your trip. From stocking your refrigerator to reserving beach equipment, there isn’t much our Concierge team can’t help you with during your stay. And should you need any recommendations, it would be our pleasure to provide suggestions for restaurants, make reservations, organize activities, and answer any questions.
We offer the option to purchase trip insurance through Rental Guardian. We highly recommend adding trip insurance to your reservation, especially if you are traveling during hurricane season (June-November).
At the time of booking, we require a payment of 50% of your total rental amount. The remainder of your balance will be due 30 days prior to your check-in date and will be automatically charged to the card we have on file. If you are booking within 30 days of your expected arrival date, the full payment is due at the time of booking.
The Town of Kiawah Island has a noise ordinance from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily. Please be mindful of your neighbors. Noise complaints can result in fines and rental termination.
