PLANNING YOUR FOLLY BEACH WEDDING CEREMONY
If you envision your wedding barefoot in the sand with the sound of the waves crashing in the background and a gentle ocean breeze, a Folly Beach wedding is ideal. Folly Beach has several locations that are big on romance and scenic views where you can get married directly on the beach.
It is free to get married on any of Folly Beach’s public beaches; however, if you plan on inviting more than 25 people, you will need a party permit. You must also adhere to the beaches’ rules. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on any of the island’s public beaches and all non-alcoholic drinks must be in a paper or plastic cup.
There is also the option to get married at Folly Beach County Park. Located on the tip of the island, the park has amazing views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Folly River. You can rent the Pelican Watch Pavilion for the day. The 1,200 square-foot pavilion is two stories and has six picnic tables on each level, grills, a horseshoe pit, restrooms, water, electricity, and beach access. Day rentals for the pavilion range from $600 – $1,500 depending on which day and time of year you want to reserve the pavilion. You can make reservations for the pavilion by calling the state park.
