FOLLY BEACH
Folly Beach has several options for wedding receptions, whether you want to get married directly on the beach or at a house overlooking the ocean. The Tides at Folly Beach is one of the most popular wedding venues on the island. The venue offers space for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies so no matter what time of year you decide to get married you can do so with the backdrop of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.
If you are looking for a quiet and intimate wedding at Folly Beach, you are allowed to get married directly on the beach. Whether you are working with one of Charleston’s talented event planners or handling the details yourself, a beach wedding still requires a bit of planning. There is no charge to get married on any of the island’s public beaches; however, a party permit is required for any parties over 25 people. Permits are available online only on the City of Folly’s website.
If you are planning on having a reception on the beach, loud music, alcoholic beverages, open fires, fireworks, and tiki torches are prohibited. You can, however, have a gas grill and non-alcoholic drinks in plastic or paper cups. Additional security may be required if you are planning on having your reception after the sun has gone down.
