Begin with a stroll down the Holy City’s iconic King Street on a gorgeous, sunny afternoon. As you make your way from the popular Upper King District, you’ll pass local favorites like Halls Chophouse, Callie’s Charleston Biscuits, and other locally loved eateries. It’s the perfect beginning to a local’s walking tour of the city.

When you continue your stroll down King Street, you see shoppers carrying colorful bags filled with purchases from one-of-a-kind boutiques, people reading menus displayed in restaurant windows, and bicycle taxis pedaling locals and tourists alike through this charming city. Soon, you’ll arrive at Calhoun Street where, if it happens to be a Saturday in April-November, vendors set up for the Charleston Farmers Market in Marion Square. Take a moment to peruse all of the beautiful locally made crafts for a souvenir that commemorates your vacation in Charleston, SC.

Finally, continue down Lower King Street, and in just a few blocks, take a left on Queen Street. Follow this iconic road past Husk Restaurant and Sunday-brunch favorite Poogan’s Porch,  as it meanders through the French Quarter all the way out to the breathtaking Waterfront Park. At its entrance, steps lead up to a majestic fountain where people gather and unwind. Rows of covered swings on a large pier invite you to rest while taking in unparalleled views of the Charleston Harbor. As you sit back in the shade looking out at sparkling, deep blue waters, you’ll never want to leave Charleston, SC.
